# Managing your account
You can share information about yourself with other Civillo users by adding an avatar and job information to your personal profile.
# Add an avatar
From the home page, in the upper-right corner, click your user name and then click the Profile button.

Under Your Profile, click Upload New Avatar.

Select an image from your computer and click Open.

# Edit personal settings
Under Edit your personal settings you can update your name, organization and job title.

Scroll down and click Update Profile to save your information.

# Manage email addresses
Under Manage your email addresses you can edit your primary email as well as add and remove alternate email addresses.
Your primary email is used for logging in, receiving invitations and all email-based communication sent from Civillo. Once confirmed, your alternate email addresses can be also used for logging in or receiving invitations (i.e. by organization or project administrators to send invitations to you).
Finally, if you have multiple Civillo accounts and your organization uses single sign-on, you may use an alternate email to merge these accounts; see here.
To edit your email, click the
edit icon and enter a new email address. Note that the "Confirm email" input must match the new email and that you cannot paste into it. Click the
tick icon to confirm.
This will log you out of your account and send an email with a confirmation link to the new email address. Clicking this link will restore your access to Civillo.
To add a new alternate email address, click the
plus icon. Again, enter the "Confirm email" input and click the
tick icon to confirm.
Again, you will be sent a confirmation email. Once you click the link to verify your ownership of the email you will also be to log in with this alternate email address. If the confirmation email has expired or you did not receive it you can click the
refresh icon to send a new email.
Once it has been verified, you can upgrade an alternate email to your primary email by clicking the
star icon. Doing to will set your previous primary email as an alternate email.
Finally, you can remove an alternate email by clicking the
cross icon. Note that, even if it was previously verified, you will no longer be able to log in using this email.
# Change password
If you are logged in and know your current password, you can change your password in the following section then click Update Profile to save the new password.

If you do not know your current password, you can use the "Forgot your password" link on the sign-in page.

This will lead you to the "Reset password" page. Enter in your registered email address and click Reset.


An email will be sent to your registered address. In the email click on the link to reset your password.
Now you can enter in your new password.

TIP
Forgotten your password? You can reset it as long as you have access to the email address you registered with. Reset password (opens new window).
# Edit notification settings
From the home page, in the upper-right corner, click your user name and then click the Profile button.

Under Notification settings you can select your desired notification preferences. Click Update Profile to save your information.
