# What is Civillo?
Civillo is an application for managing construction geospatial data.
Construction sites are dynamic and complex environments where there are constant changes in the state of infrastructure - above and below ground. In such environments it is critical to know the location and status of existing, newly constructed, and design infrastructure. Furthermore, this information must be easy to access and available in a timely fashion.
To address this need Civillo has been developed, a web-mapping platform with a simple, intuitive interface tailored specifically to construction projects. Civillo provides a single point of access to design data, existing conditions information, as-built data, photos, and reports (documents, spreadsheets, PDFs).
Importantly, as-built survey data and reports are available immediately after processing, ensuring that the design, construction, and management teams have access to up-to-date information on construction progress and the location and status of all infrastructure on the site.
Civillo is available through all modern web browsers on desktop computers, laptops, tablets and mobiles. This allows Civillo to be deployed both on-site and in the office, facilitating instant communication between all fronts of a project.
# Key features
# 2D and 3D layers
Layer files of various formats (.dxg, .dxf etc.), both 2D and 3D, can be uploaded and viewed on the map. In the 3D map mode the terrain profile can be viewed alongside site features, using a camera which can be moved and rotated in all three dimensions.
# Map tools
On the Civillo map view, various tools are available such as length/area measurement via the measure tool and viewing the vertical profiles of terrain and layers via the cross-section tool.
# File revisions
Civillo provides access to a project's revisions history which ensures users have full visibility of all archived versions and are assured that they are working from the most up-to-date files.
# User permissions
Within projects, different levels of access can be granted to different users or groups of users, so that each person has access to the appropriate amount of information. This applies to many types of content, such as layers and markups.
# Markups
Users can add markup data such as text and shapes directly onto maps and save this data to file in a range of shareable formats. Creating and storing markup data with Civillo ensures seamless communication between users and project stakeholders, making processes faster and more efficient.
# Work orders
Work orders allow specification of the location and details of a project's required jobs. Work orders have a well-defined lifecycle and various user roles for the approval process.
# Permits
Permits are designed to simplify and optimize the management of paper-based permit systems. This allows organizations to create and customize permits according to their specific requirements. Some of the key features include a templating system, well-defined lifecycle, various user roles and active documents.
