# The navigation bar
The navigation bar runs across the top of every Civillo page. It gives you quick access to your organizations, projects, administration pages, notifications, account and help. The links you see depend on whether you are signed in and on your role.
# Signed out
When you are signed out, the navigation bar shows:
- Our Product: opens the Civillo website.
- Sign In: opens the sign-in page.
- Create account: opens the page where you create an account.
Click the Civillo logo to return to the sign-in page.
# Signed in
When you are signed in, the navigation bar shows the following items. Civillo hides a link when you are already on the page it opens. Civillo also hides Map and Settings on the project settings pages.
- Administration: opens the administration pages for your organization. Organization administrators see this link when they are not inside a project.
- Projects: opens the list of projects in your organization.
- Map: opens the project map. Administrators and users with administration roles see this link while they view a project, except on the map itself.
- Settings: opens the administration pages for the project you are viewing. See Project settings link.
- Notifications: the bell icon opens your notifications.
- Your avatar: opens the account menu. See Account menu.
- More info: the three-dot icon opens the product menu. See Product menu.
Click the Civillo logo to return to your list of organizations.
# Project settings link
Inside a project, project and organization administrators see a Settings link. Users who hold only specific group roles see a link named after the first page their roles give them access to instead. Civillo checks the roles in the order shown here.

Guides in this documentation tell you to click Settings. If you are not an administrator, click the link that has your role's name instead.
# Account menu
Click your avatar to open the account menu. The menu contains:
- Your name: opens your profile. From there you can manage your account, set up MFA and add a passkey.
- Organizations: opens your list of organizations.
- Control room: opens the control room. Only Civillo global administrators see this item.
- Sign out: ends your session.
# Product menu
Click the three-dot More info icon to open the product menu. The menu contains:
- What's new: opens the release notes for the latest version of Civillo.
- Help: opens this documentation in a new tab.
- Privacy Policy: opens the Civillo privacy policy in a new tab.
- Terms & Conditions: opens the Civillo terms and conditions in a new tab.
The menu also shows the version of Civillo you are using and the copyright year.
# Small screens
On narrow screens, such as phones, the navigation bar collapses into a menu button. Click it to open a panel on the right side of the screen. The panel lists the same links, the account menu items and the product menu items.
# New version available
When Civillo releases a new version while you are signed in, a banner appears below the navigation bar. Click Refresh to load the new version, or click See what's new to read the release notes without leaving your page.
