# How to view existing permits
- Open the permit panel
Permits can be viewed from the permit panel in the map view.
From the left hand sidebar on the map view, click on the 
icon to open the permits panel.
From here you can:
Click the
icon to exports all currently viewable permits as a XLSX or file.Click the
icon to toggle on/off all layers from the map view.

Use the filter tool to filter out permits you're not interested in
- View a specific permit
Specific permits can be viewed from the permit summary panel. Click on any permit from the permits panel to view it.
From the permit summary panel you can view all the important details pertaining to the selected permit.
If a permit is in the Active or Completed state, you will have the option to view the permit document. From the in the Actions section, you can:
Click the
icon to download the permit document as a PDF.Click the
icon to view the permit document as a web page.
# Permit activity
Click on the Activity drop-down to view the permit activity. This includes any signoffs, status updates, attachments and comments.
You can also add an attachment or write a comment from this section.
