# How to sign a permit or request changes

Only permit signoff users can reject a permit.

Permits can only be approved or rejected in the Pending signoff stage.
- Find the permit you want to progress
Follow the instructions on how to view a permit.
- Approve or Request changes to the permit
Under Actions in the permit summary panel you can:
Click the
to open the preview permit dialog. Press "Confirm" to sign the permit.Click the
icon to open the request changes permit dialog. Click "Confirm" to reject the permit.
In both cases you can add an optional comment, which can be used to give context to your decision.
