# Lapsed
# Description
A permit becomes Lapsed when none of the following events have occurred on it in the last 60 or more days:
- Category response
- Status update (e.g. approved, changes requested)
- Category status update (e.g. approved, changes requested)
- Signature
- Category signature
- Hold
- Relinquish
- Open category added
- Open category removed
- Unlapsed
Lapsed permits cannot be updated and are grayed out on the map page. A red error message is shown at the top of lapsed permits' documents.
Note that permits in the following states will not lapse:
